I love dark pop. Especially dark dreampop. This genre fusion of electropop with darkwave elements is just right in every way. Darkwave is very broody and sultry in all the ways that resonate.
Southern California duo XYLØ  dropped their debut single “America” yesterday and it’s magical. The single is blissfully beautiful. Their sound is raw and cloaked in black satin, with slight traces of Broods and Purity Ring. Paige Duddy’s voice is enticing and refreshing. It’s gorgeous, no doubt, and delicately haunting over the slow hard-hitting beat.
