Since 2000, Blisspop has been proud to champion dance music in all its forms, including house, techno, electronic, and all sounds in between.
But it is no surprise from years of coverage here at Blisspop that we also have a certain fondness for disco. From reviewing classic tracks to nu-disco hits, to interviewing some of the brightest artists in dance music, we’ve been proud of our coverage of the ever-evolving disco genre.
And this Labor Day weekend, we’re taking our love of disco a little further.
We are so excited to announce the first-ever Blisspop Disco Fest August 31–September 1 at U Street Music Hall and 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., a two-day celebration of the evolution of disco featuring headlining sets by the “Father of Disco” Giorgio Moroder, Claptone, Horse Meat Disco, Holy Ghost!, and many more phenomenal artists who are currently at the forefront of the disco sound both worldwide and in D.C.
Tickets go on sale for each of Blisspop Disco Fest’s four shows Thursday, July 12 at 10AM ET. Visit U Street Music Hall and 9:30 Club’s websites for more details. Two-night passes will also be available for a limited time this week beginning tomorrow (July 10) at 10AM.
Stick with us in the coming weeks for more disco coverage and to learn about all the artists on the lineup of this year’s festival.
We can’t wait to see you this Labor Day weekend, disco fans.
