We introduced you to French electronic duo Cherokee just over a year ago with some of their initial slow disco work. Since then, they’ve been on top of the game with new releases, collaborations, as well as their U.S. debut in New York this past September. Along with this build up of new experiences, they just set loose their first EP titled American Spirit on Monday.
Listening to the 4-track EP, you’ll hear recollections of their past funky, synth-stretched work mixed within some new and heavier features that have drawn a serious line to show us what they’re capable of. From funky old western-influenced rhythms in “Hear†to strong hyper-synths and pitched guitar tones in “Room,” their ability to incorporate variety definitely gets its well-deserved respect.
