We’re going to start doing short introduction posts to get you properly prepped and excited for U Street Music Hall’s Union BBQ on June 14th. Besides the fact that all our residents will be playing that day as well, we couldn’t be more excited for the combination of stellar headliners, local food vendors, and all around awesome vibe that can only be supplied by the folks at U Street Music Hall.
We’ll start with the biggest and most obvious name on the roster to get things going. Jamie XX is most notably known for his work with indie pop darlings, the XX, but aside from that, he’s quickly become known as a producer and DJ in his own right, thanks to a number of stunning singles and high profile DJ performances. His productions are a nice blend of UK bass tendencies with nice melodics and spacey atmospherics, and his DJ sets are no less impressive, showcasing a wealth of musical knowledge that many of his peers can’t even dream to come near. Needless to say, we’re a bit more than excited to see him outdoors, mid June, in our favorite city. Don’t miss out on this!
