The production style of Hot Since 82’s remix of Noir & Hayze’s ‘Angel’ is loaded with attitude; call and response between low whispers and strong soul vocals, deep synths, crisp percussion, and airy tech-house chords with progressions situated in the liminal space between mania and melancholy. Crackling sub-bass swells and staccato accents sound like banging on pitched sheet metal. A penetrating two-beats of white noise and test tone blasts stacked on top of each other open new 4 bar phrases. Rage hard.
