I might be a couple weeks late on this one, but oh well. Tom Demac is seriously good at creating gritty, raw, and textured sounds. Just take his track “Critical Distance Pt 2” for instance and the work he did with the oscillating bass sounds in there. He just has a knack for sound design.
With this remix, there is more of an uplifting vibe than you would usually find in one of his tracks, but he executed it brilliantly. He took the piano chords from Maribou State’s original and built around the soulful groove. You can find the raw grittiness I was going on about in the interesting bass sound he created, often complementing the kick. There are lots of other wonderful intricacies happening in the track so I’ll just let you listen to it instead.
