Madeaux, “Kill For Me”

Making his Fool’s Gold debut this week is Madeaux, a Miami/L.A. nomadic producer who has been routinely killing it following remixes of popular jams by Jeremih, Swedish House Mafia, Schoolboy Q, Zhu, and a release on Dim Mak with fellow ruckus maker Will Brennan.

The debut EP, New Wav, doesn’t come out until the first week of September, but that didn’t stop the crew at Fool’s Gold from releasing a single from the EP a bit early. The track, “Kill For Me,” is Madeaux’s declaration of talent. Building from an 80’s synth that drives the same way we’d imagine a Delorean would through the skies of 2015, the track is built on a foundation of brick dug up from the electro of generations past. Self-aware, winking, and respectful of the dynasty which it’s birthed from, “Kill For Me” shows reverence for artists like Cocteau Twins and Tangerine Dream by way of contemporaries like Mitch Murder or Electric Youth through neon-lit, symphonic movements which lead into G-house inspired interludes reminiscent of Madeaux’s past work as a remix artist. Resulting in a futuristic thrill ride which will make any and all replicants feel human, “Kill For Me” is a stunning debut on an EP which will undoubtedly breathe life into Fool’s Gold fans after New Wav sees a release on September 4.

In the meantime, however, you can download Madeaux’s “Kill For Me” via digital retailers and stream the release below.
