We’re a little late on this remix, but we had to give it due credit. Newcomer Bassik hailing from Las Vegas may have just crushed the Fifty Shades game that is currently running amok in the U.S. With his stellar remix of Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” – which is burning up the charts – this new kid on the block might have struck solid gold.
Whereas the original track is a momentous ballad that builds and glides thanks to Goulding’s powerful, evocative voice, this remix re-structures said power into a melodic, deep house fist pumper complete with lighthearted synths, a bumping bassline, and sweet orchestral accompaniment. And thankfully, this edit keeps much of Ellie Goulding’s vocal arrangement giving it a good helping of sing-a-long capability which will assuredly make many of the ravers on the dancefloor shout with glee. It’s truly a crowd pleasing remix, but more importably, it’s an impressive debut from an artist we look forward to seeing more of in the future.
