With our newest series Chill Out Mondays, we are covering the latest and greatest chill out tracks of the season. The styles vary from IDM, downtempo, ambient, deep house, indie and beyond. Consider it our prescription for those Monday blues! This month we feature a variety of chilled out tracks from several of our favorites at Blisspop including: Sine, Boards of Canada remixing WHY?, MNDSGN, STRFKR, Roosevelt, Washed Out and more. Fortunately, all of these tracks dropped recently within the past 30 days! These are fresh tunes perfect to help you break up the monotony during the work day and can help you unwind afterwards too.
Some of the chill out highlights this week includes: “Colour Shades” by Sine, which is a stunning downtempo track featuring acoustic guitar instrumentation and piano harmonies. Also included in the playlist is the release of WHY?’s “Good Friday – Boards of Canada Remix” on the ten year anniversary of their Alopecia album release. Ross from Friends dropped a new album Family Portrait in late July, which possesses sounds reminiscent of Flying Lotus. “Maps- Geographer Remix” by STRFKR ventures more in the realm of shoegazey electro pop, but with the use of ambient synths we think it’s worthy of a nod this week. Blackbird Blackbird, an IDM artist dropped his latest single, “B There 2 Hold U,” recommended for fans of Manatee Commune and Shallou. Overall, expect the songs in this playlist to be dripping with echo and reverb, the essential ingredients of our Chill Out Monday series.
