Ted Alexander – XXX (Ultrasone Remix) [Stem Records]

While individually they may be industry veterans, Igor Vicente and Vernon Bara of Ultrasone have certainly gotten on well together, and fast. In just two years time, the Belgian duo have crafted a wealth of tracks for vaunted labels such as Visionquest, Hot Creations, and Supplement Facts. With a sound that is both atmospheric and electrifying, these fellows make music that’s as appropriate for casual listening as it is for a packed dancefloor. Don’t get me wrong, their tunes belong in a club: a dark, sweaty club located somewhere below ground. But Ultrasone’s tunes are a bit more thought-provoking than you might first think; we’ll call it “cerebral tech-house.”

Two days ago, a new sound appeared on their cloud. It might just be a snippet, but it’s the kind of snippet that catches your ear and whispers suggestively into it. All Balearic bravado and syncopated bass, this ones gonna be big. No news on a release yet, other than “soon on Stem [Records]”

And while we have your attention, check out this free edit of Plastikman’s “Ethnik, ” courtesy of Ultrasone’s SoundCloud.
