I was sitting in Good Stuff Eatery this afternoon, and all of a sudden “Higher Love” came on. After getting over the embarrassing mistake of thinking it was a Genesis track, I realized that there must be a couple amazing DJ edits out there. If Todd Terje could do it with Paul Simon’s “Diamonds,” who out there had taken a crack at this track?

Dimitri cruised through U Street Music Hall just a few short weeks ago and blew the place to the ground with disco that dreams are made of. And this edit is no exception. I should have figured, given his incredible edit of Prince “Wanna Be Your Lover” and his rework of Sister Sledge’s “Thinking of You.” And no, you have to go search those for yourself.
The next time you’re on a rooftop party, just do it.
