New Jesper Ryom is always something to look forward to, especially when he constantly defies expectations. On October 13th, Ryom is releasing his Aviator EP for La Fleur’s Powerplant Records, and it’s easily some of his best work yet. Beginning with the title track, you’re instantly whisked on a dreamy house trip that, true to it’s title, has a definite aerial feel to it, complete with swirling pads, low fi guitar, and a rubbery bass line driving everything along. The production is minimal but completely engrossing at the same time. The second single “Apolune” is equally stunning, sounding like an Autumn day dream. It shares a similar soundsest to “Aviator,” making for a perfect companion. On the B-side, remixes from La Fleur and Taron-Terkka offer nice alternatives for deeper and minimal settings.
