DC’s Ian Place is prepping his new EP for Hot N Heavy. Place has been one of the quick rising talents in DC, racking up a string of releases for Silence In Metropolis, Semper & Solum, and more, and the Control EP is easily some of his best work yet. Consisting of two originals, and two remixes, Control shows Place experimenting more with soulful house, sounding like a modern take on Kerri Chandler and a bit like the Max Graef/Andy Hart camp. The remixes are no joke either, bringing in some serious grooves from the likes of Bob Citrus and Tone Chaser & Commodore 69. The EP is due out later this month, but for now, check the preview below:
