Hausick and Djoko – Kickass EP (Silence In Metropolis)

With a combined collection of tracks out on heavy hitting outfits like D-Vine, Domino Effect, and Chief, the Tunisian Hausick and Germany-based Djoko have come together to create DC independent label Silence In Metropolis‘ newest release – due out July 13.

Suitably named “Kickass EP,” the title track puts together a hard hitting kick, quick shuffling hi hat work, soulful vocals, and a thumping bass line aimed to leave people hurting on the club floor. The subsequent track on the EP, “Comfortable Strangeness,” follows suit with a similar instrumental approach, moving with a heavy groove  and well placed breaks that create emphatic energy and tension throughout.

The remixes on the EP are not to be forgotten either. DC-based Chris Burns provides a deep, but soulful interpretation of Kickass (both vocal and instrumental versions), while Davide Duriez drops a techno inspired interpretation of Comfortable Strangeness.

SIM has been killing the game recently – see their last release with Jackson Ryland and Rhythm Operator.  We love seeing proper underground House coming out of the Distrtict and their upcoming effort doesn’t disappoint. Have a preview of the EP below and make sure to grab it next week.
