Washington D.C. based synth pop duo, Mystery Friends, are back with an anthemic new single, “Beck and Call.†This is a delectable bop that is certain to captivate fans of disco, nu wave, and indie pop music. According to the artists, the song is a “sumptuous ode to falling hard, even if it’s against your better instincts.†The music production is stylistically both retro and modern. Highlights of the track are the soaring vocals and a pulsing bass line. The drums are characteristically old school: reminiscent of Phil Collins’ gated reverb drums from the 1980s.
Mystery Friends believe this track is “perfect for people ready to re-emerge and find someone to dance with.” With this in mind, they plan to debut their latest single at their EP Release show at Black Cat on February 5th at 8pm. Crystal Casino and Late Postcard will also support the lineup. Their upcoming show at Black Cat marks a momentous occasion! They are releasing a limited edition, four track 8″ vinyl record at the show. This is available for purchase both at the concert and on their Facebook shop.
