Chris Nitti guides us through the depths of uncharted territory in his latest mix, August – a series of deep cuts that lay the groundwork for an enjoyably emotional musical landscape that’s easy to get lost to.
August leads the way with Ripperton’s V Remix of Andrew Lodemann’s “Where are you now?”; a calm and mildly combative selection that eases into Einzelkind’s “Blues For Yous (Roman Flugel Remix)” before prompting listeners to pass through the wobbly cryptic synths of Martin Dawson & Jay Shepheard’s “Cut A Hole.”
A sliver of light peers through the darkness at around 31.00, with Pablo Boliviar’s “Last Change”; a perfect transitional tune bridging the gap between the murky obscure depths of Glimpse & Alex Jones’ “Faulty Female” to the powerfully light and airy “Ordinary” by Kollektiv Trumstrasse. Nitti gently lulls August into a warm ending with the soothing piano-laden “New Year Eve” by DJ Phono.
