This Thursday, October 5th, your favorite neighborhood bar is hosting your favorite DJ’s favorite DJ. That’s right, Ben UFO, one of the founders of the renowned Hessle Audio record label, is stopping in Washington, DC again for an intimate night at Ten Tigers Parlour. The show is presented by our good friends at U Street Music Hall, which will be the first time the club is presenting an artist at the 200-capacity space in Petworth. Ten Tigers comes complete with a cozy dance floor and a perfectly tuned Martin Audio sound system that is sure to be on full display.
Ben Thomson, aka Ben UFO, is one of a handful of modern, world-renowned DJs who does not supplement his gigs with a production repertoire. His sets can be heard on massive festival stages around the world or in small, sweaty clubs, but they invariably take the audience on a musical journey through house, techno, garage, dubstep, grime, and beyond. Featuring artists and releases from his own Hessle Audio in addition to deep cuts across the label and genre spectrum, attendees can expect to be dancing all night and in awe of his technical prowess with both mixing and selecting. Ben can be seen crafting mixes for outlets such as Red Bull, Resident Advisor, FACT, XLR8R, and Boiler Room, as well as being a regular fixture on the weekly Hessle Audio show on London’s Rinse FM. He is a well-respected crate-digger who is consistently able to surprise and innovate in the world of DJ sets and certainly not one to be missed.
Come out this Thursday night to witness why this legendary DJ has graced the Top 10 of Resident Advisor’s DJ Poll year after year. For a taste of what Ben UFO can do check out his captivating mix for the 500th edition of the RA Podcast below.
