DC-based musicians Cautious Clay and Keylow have shared a funky little reimagining of “Refuse†by Grumby and Häri Mint. The young Proper Vibes Records duo sped the track up a bit, adding a head-noddable percussion section along with a bouncy, warm bassline. Cautious Clay chimes in with a signature sax solo that fits beautifully alongside the original vocal. These two talented young producers have carved out new and fascinating sonic territory by combining jazz licks with new-school wavy synth work – think Floating Points meets BADBADNOTGOOD.
Be on the lookout for Proper Vibes showcases, where Keylow is a resident DJ and Cautious is frequently featured. Your next chance is January 6th at Flash, where Keylow will be supporting Manila Killa.
