Danilo Plessow of Motor City Drum Ensemble recently unveiled a new collaboration with  Innervisions’ Marcus Worgull under the moniker Vermont. Reportedly an “informal†collaboration based on “loose jam sessions,†Plessow and Worgull put aside their respective signature sounds in house and techno in favor of ambient soundscapes nodding to the German krautrock genre of the late sixties. Cologne-based label Kompakt is set to release Vermont’s self-titled album which was produced using Plessow’s arsenal of vintage analog synthesizers at his home studio in Cologne. For a preview of Vermont’s aesthetic, stream “Majestät,†in which the glowing and multi-tonal synths peak to the forefront over a chipping and calculated rhythm.
Vermont is out on March 17 via Kompakt.
