Teen Daze – “My Bedroom Floor” Album Review

The New Years celebration is starting early for Teen Daze fans after he released My Bedroom Floor today in hopes to get you jumping around the dance floor before the end of the year. This digital album consists of 13 upbeat instrumentals that were produced earlier this year, but haven’t been publically available until now – an NYE gift for your ears.

“Keep The Girls Away” is a giggily, clap-your-hands synth intro track that plays a fun and appropriate role as it easily anticipates you for the rest of the album. “Show Me Your Movements” also contributes to the danceable vibe that the album sets, however, I feel it could also be a great emotional road trip song as well – listening with your headphones in the backseat, watching things go by really fast – it would fit nicely. Some of the song names such as “I Need To Get The Power Man For Jimmy”, “Bobby’s Almost Here”, and “Let’s Rock This Dagobah System” seem like a narration of his random adventures and memories throughout 2010 with their inside joke stance. Jumping to the last track, “Let’s Rock This Dagobah System” presents a bold, antsy, on-a-mission electro that actually sounds similar to what was included in the Tron soundtrack. Compared to his last album Beach Dreams, which was released just last freakin’ month, My Bedroom Floor definitely makes up for its lack of dance-floor-ready beats – not saying that’s a bad lack, its 4 tracks were tropically pleasing if you ask me.

Anyways, a majority of My Bedroom Floor presents a consistent current of upbeat tracks that pop friendly nightlife imagery into your mind just as fast as the sound through your speakers. Overall, the album consists of great songs that compliment Teen Daze respectively as it puts yet another outlook on his genre of production and gives fans a shy anticipation on what style of music he will provide next – dammit.

By the way, if you plan to be in British Columbia for New Years Eve, stop on by Abbotsford for a nice party with Teen Daze and Germany Germany.
