Leon Vynehall is a British deep house producer and DJ whose bright, melodic tracks pay reverence to the foundations of house and garage, while keeping up to date with the underground dance music scene. Vynehall got his start as a musician by playing drums and piano, eventually taking up synthesizer. He started releasing house tracks in 2012, beginning with the EPs Mauve (on Well Rounded Housing Project) and Gold Language (on ManMakeMusic). He started Laszlo Dancehall, a duo with Christian Piers (A1 Bassline) in 2013, and the project released three 12″s on ManMakeMusic. Vynehall released three solo 12″s in 2013: Brother/Sister on Aus Music, Open EP on Martyn’s 3024 label, and Rosalind on Well Rounded Housing Project. 2014’s Music for the Uninvited, the ambitious seven-track album, featured joyous, nostalgic club tracks, and downtempo interludes, and was widely praised by the dance music press, ranking on several publications’ year-end album lists, including Pitchfork, FACT, and XLR8R. Non-album single “Butterflies,” released the same year on Royal Oak, was also a success. In 2015, Vynehall contributed “Midnight on Rainbow Road” to Rush Hour’s ambient house compilation Musik for Autobahns 2 (Ambient Race Car Music). A 12″ of the track, including a beat-driven edit, was released by the label early in 2016. Vynehall’s second full-length, Rojus (Designed to Dance), appeared on Running Back in April of 2016.

In less than three years, Jacques Greene, an enigmatic young house producer from Montreal, has given the current musical landscape progressively deeper ideas of what house music can mean in the new decade. Beyond the sparkling original releases, EPs and remixes, this young producer & songwriter has collaborated across various styles from Jimmy Edgar, to Tinashe, to The XX, to Radiohead. In a culture of new artists competing for digital real estate Greene anchored his career in the physical: He toured. Playing top European venues and major festivals, he steadily conquered each crowd with his undeniably potent songs and infectious demeanor. With “Another Girl”, all the hype came to him. Tearing down the gate with two EPs on LuckyMe and Nightslugs, and nothing short of an anthem on the latter’s Allstar compilation, he grew as the best artists do. With quality releases and unforgettable live shows. As the initial disbelief at how young he was, his love of heart aching RnB, his mysterious appearance, and what he uses to record begins to sink further and further back into the pages of Google, the initial hype will be followed by better and better music. New original music, limited run white labels, a jaw-dropping analog live show, and the launch of his own imprint Vase have further established his vision leading towards his debut full length.
