Little Boots’ ties with DJ culture are deep and long-running. From her first legendary white label release ‘Stuck On Repeat’, produced by Joe Goddard, to gracing Mixmag’s cover, to her critically revered 2013 sophomore album Nocturnes, a veritable ode to dance scenes through the ages; it’s hard to think of another popstar to have garnered anywhere near as much credibility from the dance world’s inner-circle. Whether it’s collaborating with the who’s-who of clubbing’s bleeding edge on her own tunes (recent collaborations have included Maya Jane Coles, Hercules and Love Affair, DFA’s Tim Goldsworthy, and long-term comrades Simian Mobile Disco) to her own decorated DJ career, from day one she’s managed to maintain a dual life; both behind the mic and the decks. Highlight DJ sets range from Space’s closing We Love party in Ibiza (where she hosted her own room), to LA’s notorious Electric Daisy Carnival and the legendary Glastonbury festival, covering nearly every major city on the planet in between. Her mixes for everyone from Thump to Bugged Out are known, much like her choice in collaborations, to veer from classic disco to the latest house and techno beats, always maintaining a sense of party fun, and are bound to feature some ultra rare edits and bootlegs in their midst.
