Australian producer Plastic Plates has been a hot name in the indie dance world for a bit now. With scattered singles and a number of high profile mixes, his infectious take on nu disco has had us dancing for years. He’s recently signed to Australian label Sweat It Out, and the two tracks are easily some of his best work yet. “Nothing Like You†is a super summery disco house groover with a laid back feel and rubbery bassline. Muted stabs open into lush chords around chopped vocals and make it fairly impossible to not bounce to the rhythm. B-side “Sweat,†has a big throwback vibe, building a frenetic arpeggio around an mechanical beat to make a big 90s warehouse feel.
