We’re admittedly a little late to this party, but super glad we made it. Back in December, Nick Monaco released his The Stalker EP on Soul Clap Records. It’s a pack of two originals and three remixes by the likes of Soul Clap, Tanner Ross and Wadz. The title track is an addicting laid back house groove with psychedelic rock vibes and Monaco’s vocals repeating incantations about stalking that somehow manage to sound cool in all their creepiness. “Boy Meets World†is equally addicting, with a hazy hip-hop-tinged groove playing under dreamy piano chords and funky synths. Soul Clap’s remix of “The Stalker†doesn’t stray too far from the original, adding a more straight forward house feel to the groove, and Tanner Ross slows the track down too a staggered sub bass pulse and modulated vocals, making it the perfect intro track. Wadz’s take on “Boy Meets World†gives the track a bit of a kicked up funk feel with serious groove. Catch it all below and grab the EP now on Soul Clap Records.
