Lxury’s “Let Down†is another addition to the up-and-coming London-based producer’s stellar track collection. While he takes the same dense and textured production approach we’ve come to love in hits like “J.A.W.S†and remix of Hot Natured’s “Benediction,†Let Down is not your typical 6 minute DJ friendly track. It’s more like a slow build into something great over the course of the song.
With the track length landing just shy of 4 minutes, its soulful vocal cuts and piano chords start us off. From there, the typical elements of a dance track start to trickle in over the next few minutes – hi hat and scattered background percussion, then kick, then snare, then finally bass. Once you feel like the track is finally moving, it drops out again. Only for a short period, though, as he brings the business end right back end. However, much like the break, the meat of the song is short lived until the heavy elements fade out and you’re left with a slow fade out of the echoed, catchy vocal sample that started the track off.
Overall, the production value is great. And while it doesn’t follow the build of a typical take-you-on-a-ride dance track, you can’t help but enjoy. Listen and download below.
