Manila Killa and Candle Weather of the Moving Castle collective form Hotel Garuda when they’re together. An act born from the annals of SoundCloud and bred in a house which embraces everything deep, future, and pop, Hotel Garuda has climbed and climbed to an epoch that shows with hard work, dedication to your brand, and love spent on your loyals, anything is possible. With their first original track “Smoke Signals,” which recently debuted on A-Trak’s Beats 1 Radio show and has already seen support from Sander Van Doorn, Oliver Heldens, and Sam Feldt, the duo is looking to make their mark and plant their flag as spokespersons for the next major wave of American dance music.
The track, which serves as a sampling plate for all of the sounds we’ve been hearing as of late touching upon everything from vocal house to the lighter, deeper take on progressive popularized by acts like Nora En Pure, is best described as a self-sufficient microcosm and look into what we can expect from dance music at its best in the next couple of years. It’s emotive, soars, and will have the young 20-somethings raving on the rooftops while the summer shandies flow freely.
What’s even better about the track is it’s a proper representation of Candle Weather and Manila Killa’s production process which, to this point, has grown into a very specific, articulate, perfectionist mentality cutting off all fat so we’re left with a lean, mean, delicious trip through dance music propensity. These are your new icons.
