Those familiar with London record label PC Music are no strangers to the immensely saccharine, hyper-pop synth sound that put them on the map in 2014. “Drop FM,†by the label’s elusive founder A.G. Cook, is their latest release, and it features vocals from labelmate, Hannah Diamond.
The song begins with Diamond chanting her and Cook’s initials, before the buzzy track picks up and she begins singing in her high-pitched and staccato voice. Cook’s punchy beats combined with Diamond’s squeaky vocals make for a glittery track, that is undoubtedly PC Music’s own. For a song that is less than three minutes long, it packs a whole lot of punch throughout, making for an off-kilter, feel-good dance jam — perfect for these bitter winter days. For anyone who is lucky enough to go to SXSW, don’t miss out on the PC Music showcase, and you just might get to see this performed live.
