Frederic Robinson is a young drum and bass producer based out of Basel, Switzerland. His work is complex and strikingly vivid, sharing as much in common with Steve Reich and Terry Riley as he does with High Contrast and MRSA. His latest track, “Wheels,†is a teaser off his upcoming Vamp EP and features a textural vocal loop played out over a subtle arp bass and airy atmospherics that slowly builds into a big climax. It’s a bit different than his past work in that it branches off from drum and bass tempos and complicated rhythmic textures to build a more driving spaced out groover. We love it though and can’t wait to hear the rest of the EP which is out April 7th on Blu Mar Ten Records.
