It has been quite a minute since any new solo sounds have come from the Parisian producer called Darius. Known for his chilled down beats ranging anywhere in between house, disco and electro, Darius has given light to some of the best remixes for artists like (to name an illustrious few)  Jungle, Crayon, Flight Facilities and the magical “Sunlight” remix by The Magician. And now after a three year low-key hiatus, he is finally back with a new single, video and album to follow.
“Lost in the Moment” is a laid-back feel-good track that evokes instant nostalgia and features the perfectly looped vocals of Nigerian singer Wayne Snow. Where there’s happiness there’s melancholy (and vice versa) in most Darius tracks and the video for “Lost in the Moment” plays off of that. Filmed by Lisa Paclet, an Italian/French based director who has shot for high end fashion houses (Dior, Cartier), the video follows three kids exploring a dessert with spectacular views which eventually leads them off a cliff and into a deep blue body of water. There’s an ebb and flow in both the song and the video that balance each other beautifully.
Darius’ new album, Utopia will be out on Paris’ Roche Musique label on November 24th.
