Moonrise Festival, the four-stage, annual, landmark event that has taken over Baltimore’s Pimlico Race Course since 2014, has continuously brought back hit-maker after hit-maker. The prolific event runs this year from August 10th to the 11th. Known for bringing international and domestic acts to Charm City the event has artists from hip hop, house music, electronic dance music, heavy metal, rock and indie.Â
Alan Walker and KSHMR, and Tiesto, the most anticipated fan favorites, are headlining the event along with Yellow Claw, Blackbear, Excision, NGHTMRE, BonnieXClyde, Justin Caruso and Hippie Sabotage. This is Tiesto’s second time headlining the festival, his first being in 2015, and 21 Savage will make a further redemption appearance since his ICE arrest. He will be taking stage along with other rappers such as Desiigner and Smokepurpp.Â
Rising stars like VNSSA, Subtronics and DJ Riza bring to light eccentric amplifying beats. VNSSA, representing a select group of women performing at Moonrise, will be be having her ‘Road to Moonrise’ party at Soundcheck in DC to build the hype. Other notable female artists such as ZIA and Paige Lopynski are sure to display their hits.
Then there’s the Atlanta favorite heavy metal band, Mastodon, performing amongst EDM players. Baltimore, known for DJs and fans that mix a variety of different music, will most likely be in awe and curious about the band’s decades long dedication to their craft.Â
Local favorites like DJ Knowledge, BonnieXClyde and DanSpence will continue to wow their fans from all over the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. Such local presence is important to build the connection from the venue’s community, as well as to have them play on the same stage as heavily touring acts.
Stay tuned for event coverage and live artist interviews from Blisspop at Moonrise.Â
