It was a big week for DC’s Misun with their first release, The Sea, out on T&A Records followed by a successful debut live show at U Street Music Hall last night.
Call it what you will — aquawave, emo-pop — the group’s sound is extremely catchy. Singer Misun Wojcik’s voice is superb with Nacey’s production and William DeVon’s guitar skills on display. Added bonus: cellist Katie Chambers performed with the group during last night’s show.
An ensuing remix EP fatures a range of remixes (from Moombahton to slow house) by longtime friends Steve Starks, Cousin Cole, Gavin Holland, Billy the Gent, Londres and the band’s own William DeVon.
