Getting the remix treatment by Hungary’s Kovary, Deepjack and Mr. Nu’s disco inspired track “Let Me Say” could become a hit when the remixes are finally released October 5 on Mr. Moutarde Records. Whereas the original was a simple tech house track with a contagious vocal, Kovary’s remix adds a fair shake of dubby, synthy coolness which re-animates the track into a bumpy bass ride into the squirming abyss of dancing bodies on the dancefloor. Retaining a certain funk throughout, Kovary’s take on the track is reminiscent of the kind of sounds we hear coming out of DFA Records or the more underground Suara label: a dark traverse through the familiar cascade of old school electronic music subgenres like Hi-NRG and Detroit techno that makes us feel like we’ve known someone all along even though we’ve just met. In other words, this remix is tight. And it will be even tighter when we can get our hands on it.
Check out the snippet of Kovary’s take on “Let Me Say” below and get it when it drops on October 5.
