The last time Josh Butler and Bontan came together was with last year’s sick remix of  Butler’s “Got a Feeling” that got insurmountable praise from DJs and dance music fans alike. Their first official concoction, the ultra smooth, deep house master blaster “We Found a Place” coming off MTA Records is set to repeat history. With it’s minimalist bassline and stabbing synths, Butler and Bontan have delivered a track that radiates the classic house anthems out of Chicago which the dance music community holds so near and dear. It’s as if they are channeling not just the inspiration for their new single, but their new single is the very inspiration itself. All of this, however, would not come together if it weren’t for the inclusion of the soulful vocals by newcomer Josh Barry; when he cries out, “lovin’… it’s so easy to do,” the tinge of passion and belief in his voice brinks on the edge of pitied self-actualization that maybe love is easy to do, but hard to keep.
And like Josh Barry, we are in for a ride during this journey that Josh Butler and Bontan has crafted for our ears.
Grab “We Found a Place” featuring Josh Barry on September 29 when it’s released by MTA Records.
